I was Christmas Shopping with my one year old daughter and after a long wait at Macy's...it was
finally our turn to pay.  During check out, my daughter knocked over a few items on display at
the check out counter that were on her level in the stroller.  I bent over to pick them up and she
ripped the absolute loudest fart I had ever heard out of someone her size.  As I sat there, bent
over picking up the items, I knew no matter what I said - I was guilty.  So I just laughed and stood
up to a jaw dropping crowd of about 20 that just looked in disbelief and the cashier would not
even look at me to give me my receipt.  I told everyone Merry Christmas and quickly headed on
my way!

Scale back the Toys!

Do your children have more than they need?  Most families find their children accumulate
more toys than they can play with.  Every couple of months make it fun…have your child go
through their toys and gather everything they would like to share with someone else.
Gather the well cared for toys, games and books and together you can take them to a
shelter, orphanage, hospital or the Ronald McDonald House.  These places can use the toys
and your child learns how to be involved with community donations and can learn the needs
of others.

Keep your child’s play area organized!

The cubby system works great.  Create a basket for dolls, cars, etc. and store it in the
cubby.  This way when your child wants to play with dolls, they pull out the doll basket – play
with the dolls – and then can quickly pick everything up and put it away.

Make clean up FUN!

Set a timer and see who can clean the most the fastest!  Kids love games and winning is
always fun so make cleaning up the house seem more like a game than a chore!
